Review, pay and publish edited photos

When your editor delivers, you compare each finished photo with the original, approve it or ask for a change, pay your editor and publish the photos to your client's gallery. Your client sees nothing until you publish.

Where to find it: Click Projects in the left menu, open the project, click Media and open the Editing tab. The delivery email also has a Review the photos button. On a phone, tap the menu icon at the top left first to open the menu.

When the photos arrive

You get an email, "[editor] delivered your edits", with the number of files ready for your review. The job shows Delivered and "N to review". Click Review N photos.

Depending on your editor's terms, you see the full photos or watermarked previews marked "PREVIEW". With previews, the full-size files unlock after you pay.

Review the photos

  1. Drag the slider to compare the Before (your original) with the After.
  2. Move between photos with the arrows, your keyboard's arrow keys, or by swiping on a phone.
  3. Use the filters All, To review, Approved and Changes.
  4. Click Approve on each photo you are happy with.

A photo marked "extra photo" or "not matched to a RAW set" is one your editor added. It is charged at the main edit price if you approve it.

Ask for changes

  1. On the photo, click Request change.
  2. Under What should change?, describe it, for example "The window on the left is still blown out."
  3. Click the photo to pin the exact spot, if it helps.
  4. Click Save note.
  5. When you have gone through the photos, click Send N changes to [editor] and confirm.

Your editor gets your notes and sends new versions. You get an email, "[editor] sent new versions", and review them the same way. There is no limit on rounds of changes.

Finish the review

Click Approve all N remaining to approve the rest, or Finish review when every photo is approved. You will see "Approved. You can publish the photos to your gallery.", or, if the files unlock after payment, "Approved. [editor]'s full-size files unlock after payment."

Automatic approval

If your editor's terms include it, photos you haven't reviewed are approved automatically a number of days after delivery. The job shows the date, for example "auto-approves Nov 3 if not reviewed", and you get an email when it happens. Changes you marked but haven't sent stop the automatic approval, so send them.

The final price

The final amount is worked out when you approve, from the photos you approved: the main edit for each approved photo, the add-ons on the photos you marked, and any per-minute or per-hour services as estimated. The job then shows Price (final).

Pay by card

  1. On the job, click Pay [editor].
  2. Check the amount: the editing work, the RebookMedia fee, card processing and You pay. A note says who covers the fees under your editor's terms.
  3. Click Pay $X by card and pay on Stripe's secure page.

The money goes to your editor's own Stripe account. Back on RebookMedia you see "Payment received. Thank you!", and you get a receipt by email, "Receipt: you paid [editor] for [job]". If the files were locked until payment, they unlock now.

  1. Payment is due when you approve, or a number of days after, depending on your editor's terms. The emails tell you when.
  2. Card payments are in US dollars.
  3. If you see "[editor] hasn't connected Stripe yet.", your editor can't take cards yet. Pay another way and record it.

Record a payment you made another way

  1. Click Pay [editor] and use I paid another way.
  2. Choose the Method (PayPal, Payoneer, Zelle, Venmo, Cash, Check or Other), the Date paid and a Reference such as the transaction ID (optional). If your editor added their PayPal or Payoneer details, you see them here.
  3. Click Record payment of $X. You will see "Recorded. [editor] was asked to confirm it."

There is no RebookMedia fee and no card processing on these payments. Your editor confirms they received it, and you get an email. If they haven't received it, you get an email too and the job shows "Payment due." again: sort it out with your editor, then record the payment again.

Refunds

Only your editor can refund a card payment, and it is refunded in full. You get an email, "[editor] refunded your card payment", and the money is back on your card in 5 to 10 business days. The job shows "Payment due." again.

Publish to your gallery

  1. On the job, click Publish to gallery.
  2. If your gallery has folders, choose the folder under Add them to folder.
  3. Click Publish N photos. You will see "Published to your gallery."

The approved photos (and videos) move into the gallery's Photos & Videos section, with no extra copy. Your gallery's watermark setting applies, like any upload, and they count toward your storage from now on. The job shows In gallery. Then share the gallery with your client as usual. See Deliver photos and media to clients.

Download the full-size files

After you approve (and pay, if your editor's terms say so), click View photos on the job and use Download full size on each photo.

Troubleshooting

"The full-size files unlock after payment, under the editor's terms."

Pay your editor, or record your payment and wait for them to confirm it.

"Approve every photo first, or send the changes to your editor."

Some photos are still to review, or you marked changes without sending them. Approve them or click Send N changes.

"Your gallery storage is full."

Upgrade your plan or free up space, then publish again. See Manage your plan and subscription.

"Payment cancelled. Nothing was charged."

You left Stripe's page before paying. Click Pay [editor] to try again.

A video shows "Preparing a watermarked preview"

The preview is being made. Check back in a few minutes.
