Send a shoot to your editor straight from the project. You drop in the whole card, choose the edits, mark the photos that need something extra and add your instructions. Your editor gets an email and starts work, and the finished photos come back to the same project for your review.
Where to find it: Click Projects in the left menu, open the project, click Media and open the Editing tab. On a phone, tap the menu icon at the top left first to open the menu.
Before you start: invite your editor and make sure they take this project's category. See Work with your photo editors.

The Editing tab
The tab lists Your editors who take this project's category, with their Prices, and your editing jobs for the project. Click New Editing Job to start. If you already started one, your draft opens again.
The job is set up in four steps. Finished steps get a check mark, and you can click them to go back.
Step 1: Files
- Drop the whole shoot into the box, photos and videos together, or click Choose files or Choose folder. No sorting is needed.
- Watch the upload: "x of y, about N min left". You can go on to the next steps while it uploads, but keep the page open until it finishes.
- Click Next: choose editor.
- Photos: RAW files from most cameras (for example CR3, CR2, NEF, ARW, RAF, DNG, ORF, RW2), JPG, TIFF, HEIC, PNG and PSD, up to 400 MB each.
- Videos: MP4, MOV and other common formats, up to 2 GB each.
- Up to 5,000 files per job. Files that can't be sent are skipped, with the reason.
- Your RAW files don't count toward your plan's storage. Photos count only once you publish them to the gallery.
Real estate: bracketed shots
On Real Estate projects, tick Bracketed shots (HDR): group into sets and choose Automatic, 3, 5 or 7. Automatic groups shots taken a second or two apart with different exposures into one set, and each set becomes one finished photo. Click Check sets to move photos between sets, split or join sets, or remove photos. Sets that look odd are marked "check this set".
If the upload stops
If you closed the page before the upload finished, open the job and drop the same files again. Files already uploaded are skipped.
Step 2: Editor and services
- Choose the Editor. If only one of your editors takes this kind of job, they are already chosen.
- Choose the Main edit every photo gets, for example a standard edit.
- Add any Add-ons (for example sky replacement or virtual staging), Video services and Extras. Some services ask for an option, the video length or an estimate of hours.
- Click Next: mark photos.
- Use the search box to find a service, or click Use the same services to repeat your last job with this editor.
- Each service shows its price, the usual turnaround and what is included.
- Your editor's terms and who pays the card payment fees are shown at the bottom.
Videos
If the shoot has videos, choose who edits them: the same editor (choose a video service), Send the videos to another editor (this makes a second draft job with just the videos, priced and paid on its own), or Keep the videos out of this job.
Step 3: Mark photos and brief
Every photo gets the main edit. Here you choose which photos get each add-on:
- Click a photo to select it. Shift-click to select a range.
- Click the add-on it needs, for example + Twilight. Click it again to take it off.
- Optionally choose an Area (for example Kitchen or Outside) and click Add note for a note on that photo, such as "remove the hose in the front yard".
Then fill in Brief & due date:
- Style profile: reuse instructions you saved before, or Save these instructions as a new style.
- Due (optional): the date and time you need the edits, in your time. You also see the time for your editor.
- Instructions for the whole job, for example "Bright and natural, no heavy HDR look. Keep window views."
- Sample pictures (optional): edits you like, JPG or PNG, up to 25 MB each.
The box at the bottom shows your editor's price (an estimate), the RebookMedia fee, what you pay and what your editor receives. Click Next: review & send.
Step 4: Review and send
Check the editor, files, number of finished photos, due date, terms and price, then click Send to [editor]. The button waits until every file has uploaded. You will see "Sent to your editor.", and your editor gets an email.
About the price: it is an estimate from your editor's price list. The final amount is worked out when you approve the edits, from the photos you approve. You pay after you approve: by card through RebookMedia (card processing is added then), or another way you record.
Follow your job
Each job shows on the Editing tab with its status and progress:
- Draft: not sent yet. Click Continue setup to finish it, or Remove draft.
- Sent: waiting for your editor to accept.
- Accepted: your editor took the job. You get an email.
- Editing: your editor downloaded the files.
- Delivered: the finished photos are ready for your review.
- Changes requested: waiting for your editor's new versions.
- Approved, Awaiting payment, Paid and In gallery: see Review, pay and publish edited photos.
To talk to your editor, use your Inbox: your editors are listed under Your editors when you start a new message.
Change or cancel a job
- While it is Sent, click Change and confirm. The job goes back to a draft so you can change it and send it again. Your editor isn't emailed about this, so message them if they already saw it.
- Until the photos are delivered, click Cancel job and confirm. Your editor is told.
- Once the photos are delivered, the job can't be cancelled. Review the photos instead.
If your editor declines
You get an email, and the job shows "[editor] declined this job" with their reason. Click Change & resend to change the job or choose another editor, then send it again.
Troubleshooting
New Editing Job is greyed out
None of your editors takes this project's category yet. Ask your editor to set up their prices for it, or invite another editor.
"Skipped N files that can't be sent"
Those files are a type editors can't receive, empty, or over the size limit (400 MB for a photo, 2 GB for a video).
"Some files are still uploading"
Wait until the upload finishes, then send. Keep the page open while files upload.
My choices in step 2 or 3 were lost
Your job is saved as you click Next or Back. Click Next before you close the window.
"[editor] hasn't set up a price list yet."
Ask your editor to add their services under Pricing in their RebookMedia account.
