You can message a professional on RebookMedia before you book, to ask a question, and any time after, about your appointment, your photos or an invoice. Your conversations are kept in your account's Inbox, and you are told by email (and text) when they reply.
Where to find it: Sign in and click Inbox in the menu. On a phone, tap Inbox at the bottom of the screen.

Message a professional before you book
- On the professional's profile or website, click the chat bubble ("Message [name]").
- Write your question and project details: what you need, when, where and your budget (at least 20 characters). Tap a suggestion to start if you like.
- Click send. If you aren't signed in, a step asks "How can [name] reach you?": enter your first and last name, email and, optionally, your phone. Tick Also text me replies to get replies by text.
- Click Send message. You will see "Message Sent!"
You get the reply by email. Click Open your chat to continue the conversation; we send you a code by email (or text) to open it.
Good to know: if your email already has a RebookMedia account, you are asked to sign in first. Click Sign in to send, then send your message.
Start a conversation from your Inbox
In your Inbox, click the pencil (New message), or Send message when no conversation is open. Under To:, search for one of Your pros and pick them. You can also tap a professional's photo at the top of your list.
You can also click the message button in Pro Detail on a project page to write about that project.
Read and reply
- Open Inbox. Your conversations are listed newest first. Unread conversations have a bold name and a blue dot.
- Click a conversation to open it.
- Type your reply and press Enter or click Send (Shift + Enter starts a new line).
Messages can be up to 1,500 characters, and can't be edited or deleted once sent. On a phone, tap a conversation to open it and use the back arrow to return to the list.
On a professional's website, your Inbox shows only your conversation with them, and Contact Support in the menu opens it too.
Send photos and files
Click the paperclip, choose one file, and click Send. You can send photos (JPG, PNG, GIF), videos (MP4), PDFs and ZIP files, one file per message.
Conversation details
Click the (i) button at the top of a conversation to see details about your work together: your latest order, your next visit and their rating, with View order and Visit website buttons.
Notifications and message links
- When your professional writes to you, you get an email "New message from [name]" with a View & Reply button, and a text if your mobile number is verified.
- The link works for 7 days. If you aren't signed in on that device, you are asked for a 6-digit code sent to your phone or email. Enter it and click Verify and open messages; the device is remembered for 30 days.
- If the link has expired, click Send me a new link.
Report or block someone
Open the conversation and click the (i) button. At the bottom of the details:
- Report: choose a reason and click Send report. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
- Block: you won't get messages from each other. To undo it, open the conversation and click Unblock.
Troubleshooting
"This email already has a RebookMedia account. Sign in to send your message."
Click Sign in to send and sign in with that email (use Forgot password? if needed), then send your message.
"Write a little more (at least 20 characters)"
Add a bit more detail so your professional knows how to help.
"Your message is too long. Keep it under 1,200 characters."
Shorten your first message; you can add more once the conversation starts.
"That code isn't right. Please check it and try again."
Use the latest code you received; codes expire after 10 minutes. Click Send a new code if needed.
"Your chat session has expired. Reload the page to keep chatting."
Reload the page and send your message again.
"You can't reply to this conversation."
The conversation has been blocked, or the account is no longer active.
