Sign a contract from your professional

Many professionals ask you to sign a contract before your shoot, for example to agree the services, the price, how your photos can be used and their cancellation terms. On RebookMedia you read and sign it online, on any device, without signing in.

This article explains how to open, read and sign your contract, what happens next, and how to keep a copy.

Where to find it: Open the email "Contract Ready for Your Signature" from your professional and click View & Sign Contract.

Open your contract

When your professional sends you a contract, you get an email from their business, "Contract Ready for Your Signature: [contract name]". Click View & Sign Contract. If the button doesn't work, copy the link under it into your browser.

The link is personal to you, so don't forward it. You don't need a RebookMedia account or password to sign.

Read the contract

The page shows the contract name, your professional's business name and the full contract. Your name, address and project details are already filled in.

  1. Some sections may be completed by your professional; until they are, they show "[To be completed by ...]".
  2. If anything is unclear or wrong, don't sign yet. Reply to the email or message your professional and ask them to change it.

Add your initials

Some contracts ask for your initials next to important sections, in yellow boxes marked Client Initials (required) or (Optional). Click each box and type your initials.

Sign the contract

  1. Scroll to the signature area at the end of the contract. Your name is shown above the box.
  2. Type your full name in the Type signature... box. It appears in a handwriting style.
  3. Click Sign Contract.
  1. If a required initials box is empty, it is outlined in red and the page scrolls to it. Fill it in and click Sign Contract again.
  2. If the name you typed doesn't match the name your professional has for you, you are asked "Your signature does not match your name". Click No to fix it, or Yes to sign as typed.

Once signed, the signature area shows your signature with a green check and the date.

Who signs first

Your professional chooses the signing order:

  1. Usually they sign first, so their signature is already there when you open the contract.
  2. If you see "Awaiting Pro signature. You can sign once the Pro completes their part.", your professional needs to sign first. You will be able to sign once they have.
  3. Some contracts are signed by you first and then counter-signed by your professional.

After you sign

  1. When everyone has signed, you get an email, "Contract Fully Executed", with a View Completed Contract button to see the signed contract at any time.
  2. If your professional still needs to counter-sign, you get that email once they have.
  3. If your professional later changes a signed contract, the old version is marked VOID and you get a "Notice of Voided Contract" email. They will send you the new version to sign.

Keep a copy

Open the contract from your email and click Print. To save a PDF, choose Save as PDF as the printer in your browser's print window. Your professional also keeps the signed contract with your project.

Troubleshooting

"Contract Not Found"

Your professional may have updated the contract since sending it, which replaces the link. Ask them to send it to you again, and use the link in the newest email.

"This contract link has expired. Please contact ... to request a new link."

The contract was updated while you had it open. Ask your professional to send it again.

"Signature is required."

Type your full name in the signature box before clicking Sign Contract.

The signature box is greyed out

  1. If it says "Awaiting Pro signature", your professional needs to sign first.
  2. If the contract shows a VOID stamp, it has been replaced. Use the newest contract your professional sends you.
  3. If it says "Client signature controls are restricted on this link", you opened a preview link. Use the link in your own "Contract Ready for Your Signature" email.
